I liked to be a part of the college community and aligned with my values of making a positive change.
What I wish was different
Sometimes I felt like I was given the tasks that no one else wanted to do and was put off for a long time. Paper shredding, inventory logging, menial tasks instead of learning and job shadowing the professional training aspect.
Advice
Do what you have to do until you can do what you want to do. I wasn't fulfilled with my internship because I wasn't getting a lot of professional experience, but I stuck it out and got other opportunities that I wouldn't have if I had not taken this position.

Education Work study
January 2019 - June 2021 • Pablo, MT
What I liked
The team challenged me with work and allowed me to do the job.
What I wish was different
I wish that I didn't leave. It meant a lot to work with the education department. I loved every day and knew that I was supported.
Advice
Be willing to work and self-start. Some days were slow but I would sanitize tables and doorknobs. I did these jobs to care for the staff and students. No job is above you, stay busy.
